Students from Lima, Manor, Middle, and High School gathered today for a district-wide Friendsgiving celebration — and it was full of heartwarming moments. 💛🖤

Many little Cougars met big Cougars for the very first time, sharing hugs, smiles, and games before sitting down to enjoy a meal they helped prepare themselves.

Congratulations to Gary Stottler and Tim Heywood on being recipients of the BOE's Cougar Pride Award! Stottler and Heywood were nominated by Cindy Peterson. Peterson noted the following: "Kudos to the Robotics Team – Bus 27 Back in Service! I want to give a big Cougar Pride shoutout to everyone involved in getting Bus 27 back on the road! The issue was diagnosed as a faulty circuit board, with Chuck identifying a burnt diode as the root cause. The dealership informed us that the repair part would be on a month-long backorder and cost around $1,200—with no estimated delivery date. Instead of waiting, we reached out to Garry Stottler, Tim Heywood, and the HF-L Robotics Team. They stepped up in a big way! Using parts ordered from Amazon for under $10—at no cost to the Transportation Department—they carefully soldered out the damaged diode and replaced it with a new one. Thanks to their skill and teamwork, the bus is now fully operational again. Kudos to the Robotics Team and Chuck for their innovation, collaboration, and problem-solving! This is a perfect example of the incredible talent and resourcefulness we have right here in our district." #WeAreHFL
